At the Battle of Crecy, a French knight was heard to shout to his comrades that the rabble - meaning their own crossbowmen in front of them - were only impeding them. They trampled their own men to death, but these were after all only commoners.
It confuses me (I think) why people feel strongly about this sort of injustice. One group calling themselves a higher class and trampling a lower one.
I see it as the nature of the mass to divide themselves only to further their own piteousness or gain.
There is no ethnicity, sexuality, age, or socio-economic grouping.
Only those with a spark and those without.
